Richard Hansford

Dr. Richard Hansford has enjoyed a long career as a research scientist and medical educator. His previous books include The Doctor Factory and Rats in Science and Medicine, which examine the ethical challenges of working in an offshore medical school and in the trenches of scientific research. The present work is in some manner a follow-up to The Professor and the Brown Cows and describes the pleasure and the pain of raising beef-cattle for profit and of learning to ride a spirited horse. The challenges are quite different from those of teaching several thousand medical students but they are none the lesser. Richard Hansford and his wife Rosie make their home in the bucolic countryside of My Lady's Manor, Maryland.
