Hazel Davis spent years distancing herself from the online empire that made her younger sister, Evie, one of the internet's biggest influencers. While millions followed every milestone of Evie's carefully curated life, Hazel chose privacy over popularity. But when Evie vanishes during a livestream, Hazel is forced back into the digital spotlight to uncover what really happened.

As internet sleuths, true crime fans, influencers, and conspiracy theorists race to solve the mystery, Hazel begins investigating the family she thought she knew. Behind perfectly edited videos, lucrative brand deals, and viral content lies a web of manipulation, exploitation, obsession, and long-buried secrets. The deeper Hazel digs into the online world that made her sister famous, the more dangerous the search becomes—and the more she realizes that someone has been profiting from the truth staying hidden.
