Michael Backes

Michael Backes is head of research and development for Abatin Wellness Center, a medical cannabis dispensary and research center in Sacramento, California. He is currently working with the State of California to help develop legislation to clarify the state's medical marijuana laws. Prior to Abatin, Backes founded Cornerstone Research Collective, the first science-based medical cannabis collective in California. He was part of the National Cannabis Industry Association's first lobbying day on Capitol Hill in 2011. He lives in Sacramento, California.
