Kate McCarthy

Born in the East End of London Kate (aka Gloria Rogers) lived there for twelve formative years after which she moved to Essex. She continued her education in London until the age of 17.Having worked in the City for some years she then went back to college, studied and trained to become a teacher of maths, computing & I.T. Enjoying worldwide travel, she has renovated an old farmhouse in France with her husband and lived there on and off for over ten years. Always a passion for books, she now has the time to fulfil the ambition to write her own, still managing to pursue many other hobbies. As a watercolour artist (aka Gloria Rogers) she has exhibited and sold her art work, and uses her paintings to create cards and prints. She enjoys visiting the theatre, local and in London, and listening to music. Kate is married and has one son. 'The Oast House' was her debut novel. Other books are: 'Orchids & Dragonflies', 'Sleep in Peace' (short story), and the latest -'The Seventh Magpie Trilogies'.
