Jami

Nur ad-Din Abd ar-Rahman, known as Jami, was a Persian poet, scholar, and mystic, and the last great figure of the Golden Age of Persian literature. He studied for a theological career in Samarkand before entering the mystical life. Sultan Hysayn Bayqara, the Timurid ruler of Herat, founded a college especially for him, where he achieved enormous fame and authority as teacher, writer, and proponent of the mystical way.
