Giovanni Boccaccio

Giovanni Boccaccio (1313–1375) was an Italian writer, poet, and humanist of the Renaissance. Best known for The Decameron, he blended classical learning with vivid realism. A friend of Petrarch, Boccaccio helped shape modern storytelling, influencing European literature with themes of love, fortune, and human folly.
