Emma Goldman

Emma Goldman was a Lithuanian-born anarchist, political activist, and writer who became one of the most influential radical thinkers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A passionate advocate for free speech, labor rights, women’s equality, and individual liberty, she delivered lectures and published essays across the United States and Europe. After being deported from the United States in 1919, she spent time in Soviet Russia, experiences that profoundly shaped her later writings and critical analysis of revolutionary politics.
