Ainissa Ramirez

Ainissa Ramirez dreamed about becoming a scientist when she was a little girl. She eventually got her doctorate in materials science from Stanford University, where she learned all about atoms. Many years later, she got a chance to share the world of atoms with others. She wrote The Alchemy of Us; Spark: Jim West’s Electrifying Adventures in Creating the Microphone, illustrated by Setor Fiadzigbey; and North, South, East, and Gladys West: How a Mathematician Helped Shape GPS, illustrated by Tamisha Anthony.
