He’s risking his reputation. She’s risking her heart.

And both of them are in way over their heads.

Hunter Mills and Damien Shaw have been friends since high school, but they've also been lifelong rivals.

One night. One reckless bet. And suddenly Hunter finds herself on the losing side of a wager. The price she has to pay? Accompany Damien to the annual Shaw family retreat in Hawaii.

But the moment his private jet takes off, a shamefaced Damien confesses that they're not going to Hawaii. They are going to his brother's week-long destination wedding at a luxury island resort in tropical Fiji.

And he might just have told his entire family that Hunter is his girlfriend. Which means the two of them will be sharing a private beachfront bure for the week, while playing pretend lovers for the benefit of the Shaw family.

Behind closed doors, the pretending stops. Years of pent-up longing finally ignite, and what happens between the sheets is anything but fake.

But Damien's New York old money grandparents have made their position crystal clear. Hunter Mills will never be good enough for their grandson.

Everything changes when a tropical cyclone tears through the island and Hunter goes missing. In the chaos of the storm, Damien is forced to confront exactly how much she means to him.

And when he finally finds her, there's no more pretending — for either of them.
