A detective chasing a fugitive. An ex-cop haunted by the past. A little girl who saw too much.

Detective Liz Moorland is already stretched thin by a dangerous manhunt when a fatal crash on a lonely country road lands on her desk. Everyone else sees a tragic accident. Retired cop Vince Carter sees murder.

Once respected, now isolated and drowning in old grief, Vince has spent years hiding from the world in his decaying cottage. But when his estranged daughter and son-in-law are killed, leaving behind eight-year-old Melanie, he is forced back into it. And when a threatening voicemail surfaces, his instincts tell him someone wanted them dead.

As Liz and Vince follow the threads between the crash and her fugitive investigation, the shadows around Melanie begin to close in. Because the little girl survived that night for a reason.

And somewhere in the darkness, a killer is making plans to keep her silent.

Lest We Forgive is the gripping first novel in the Detective Liz Moorland series — an atmospheric Australian police procedural filled with suspense, family tragedy, and chilling twists.

Audiobook narrated by Aussie screen icon John Wood.
