A haunted attic is one thing. An overly charming new neighbor in a cursed mansion is another. But when people start vanishing, this sixty-something witch is trading her apron for her gumshoes.

Edwina Gale’s life in the quirky, supernatural town of Deepwood, Oregon is usually filled with the pleasant chaos of running her diner, practicing spells, and occasionally tracking down supernatural bad guys for the local witch council. Currently, her biggest headache is a flaky contractor who’s taking forever to renovate her attic—until he bolts from the job, spooked by a hidden room that he claims is whispering to him. What he leaves behind is more than just unfinished drywall and dusty cauldrons, it's the start of a mystery that’s about to boil over.

Just as Edwina is trying to decipher the ancient magic she’s unearthed, a charismatic stranger moves into the supposedly cursed Thornewoode House. Soon after, her contractor disappears for good, followed by a local librarian. Whispers of blood magic and a growing sense of dread have everyone on edge. With the handsome police chief bound by the rules, it's up to Edwina and her eccentric circle of friends—including her Ancient Egyptian priestess bestie and the fabulous were-jackal drag queen, Bubbles—to investigate.

She's in a race against time to uncover the truth, but every clue she finds pulls her deeper into a game of magical misdirection. Can this pie-making witch solve the mystery before the conjuror’s final act makes her the next to disappear?
