Baby in Blue

Cindy Killebrew, a sharp-witted detective with the San Francisco Police Department, navigates the gritty streets while grappling with an unfulfilled longing for motherhood. At 34, her biological clock ticks louder, but her high-stakes job and lack of a suitable partner complicate her dreams. Her work partner, John Watt, once her lover, now maintains a protective, platonic bond. When John is nearly killed in a botched sting operation, Cindy’s world shifts. Among the suspects is Vincent Alfredi, a charming associate of the Mangione crime syndicate. Despite her instincts, Cindy feels an undeniable pull toward Vincent, whose advances stir forbidden desires. As Vincent uses his underworld connections to track the shooter, Cindy’s professional resolve wanes, and she questions her career. John’s recovery and lingering feelings for her spark tension, especially when he discovers her growing connection with Vincent. The novel spans three volumes, tracing Cindy’s journey from duty-bound detective to a woman embracing love, motherhood, and heartbreak. Vincent’s eventual murder leaves Cindy devastated, but John steps up, becoming a father figure to her child, forging an unexpected family from the ashes of loss.
