The Good Shepherd Series

The Good Shepherd Series is a four-volume journey through Scripture that invites readers to know Christ more deeply, follow Him more faithfully, live faithfully among His people, and remain steadfast until the Shepherd appears.

Beginning with Beholding the Good Shepherd, the journey starts with the character and heart of Jesus Christ. Through the biblical image of the shepherd and his sheep, readers are invited to consider who the Good Shepherd truly is, how He knows His sheep, how He leads, restores, provides for, protects, and keeps them, and why His people can safely entrust themselves to His care. The first volume lays the foundation for everything that follows by turning the reader’s attention away from imperfect human shepherds and toward the faithfulness of Christ Himself.

Following the Good Shepherd then asks what happens when those who have come to know the Shepherd begin to walk after Him. Finally, Until the Shepherd Appears turns our eyes toward the completion of the journey. The Christian life is lived in hope while we wait for the return and appearing of Jesus Christ. The final volume explores perseverance, watchfulness, faithfulness, holiness, hope, suffering, endurance, and the promise that the Shepherd who began the journey will bring His people safely into His presence. The story does not end with the struggles of the sheep, but with the appearing of the Shepherd and the fulfillment of everything He has promised.

Together, these four volumes form a single pastoral journey through the Christian life: beholding Christ, following Christ, living faithfully among His people, and waiting faithfully for Christ to appear.
