Allen Smith January 11, 2026 This book did not disappoint. It was everything I had hoped it would be, and even more. Rachael writes was such emotional efficiency making you feel every nuance as she lays out her beautiful storyline. I hope we get another glimpse into their lives as married men, and heated teammates, in every sense of the word. Did you find this helpful? I have a love hate relationship with these books. The characters and plot are for the most part pretty interesting, and it's clear the author is passionate and knowledgeable about the happenings of the book, but on the other hand it has many flaws. For one, the writing is at times juvenile and/or underdeveloped. It reads like a mediocre AO3 fan fiction, which is not something from a book I PAID for. Many of the events are cliche and predictable, and most of the side characters are pretty 1 dimensional. I can see how these books gained a large fanbase and created the show, but if I were to be honest. I would skip the books and just watch the show.

It was overall good and did exactly what it needed to do for me until the political and borderline activist seeped in... I was like, "Come on, really? Leave the politics and activism to the people who write in that actual genre!" That left kind of a bad taste in my mouth. But again, it's still an overall heart throbbing read.
