I think Maya Banks is a pretty good writer but this book is still a bit meh to me due to the storylines. To summarize the book: The heroine saved the wounded hero and they both fell in lust with each other. No other reasons to fall in love other than they're both good looking and they got hot in each other's presence. Both the hero and the heroine shows little to no depth - which makes me question their said 'love'. It's all about he/she 's the one for me for them but I see little to no reasons at all (other than lust) that's binding them together in terms of feelings. Yes, the aurhor did try to make hima appear like a responsible hero while the heroine was painted as extremely kindhearted but everything was brushed down as simply facts with little to make me connect with them. The author simply didn't bother making them humans, they are simply a warrior and an angel.

Do you remember when romance books actually made you wait? When the anticipation built, and the kissing—or anything remotely sweet—didn’t show up until page 100, not page 10. Are there still writers like Judith McNaught who know how to craft a real romance arc? Or maybe I’m wrong and this book isn’t romance at all—it’s just soft porn. Either way, still one star, because it’s not even good erotica.

I don't like sexual dominance & bondage. Believe me, there is no way a virgin could enjoy sex from the rear her first time. Stupid idea.
