One Life Between Two Fathers

An Emotional Story of Family, Identity, and the Home You Choose

(Book Three of the Trilogy)

Some stories don't end when the truth is told.

They begin there.

After everything she has learned about her past, Kalista Hale Brooks returns to the place that shaped her, not to undo what was, but to live with what remains. Between two men who both call themselves her father, she must learn how to stand in a life that no longer fits a single story.

Nothing is simple anymore.

But nothing is hidden.

As old memories soften and new moments take their place, Kalista begins to see that family is not something you are given once — it is something you keep choosing. A quiet house, shared mornings, unfinished conversations, and the love that never asked to be owned all come together in a final season of reckoning and belonging.

This is not a story about replacing one father with another.

It is a story about making room.

One Life Between Two Fathers is a gentle, emotionally grounded novel about what it means to belong without having to decide who matters more. It explores how love can exist in more than one place, how the past becomes part of us without controlling us, and how home is built not by blood alone, but by care, presence, and choice.

Nothing here is loud.

Nothing is rushed.

Every moment is shaped by what has already been lived.

This final book in the trilogy brings Kalista's journey to a quiet, honest close — not by tying every thread into a neat ending, but by letting life continue, open and real.

For readers who believe:

• Family is more than one shape

• Love does not need permission

• Identity is something we grow into

• The quiet stories stay the longest

If you followed Kalista through One Last Dance With Dad and The Name She Never Used, this final chapter of her life is waiting for you — not with answers, but with something deeper.

A place to stand.

What I loved most was that it never tried to force big emotional moments. Everything felt natural, and because of that the story hit even harder. The idea of finding yourself between two fathers and trying to understand where you truly belong was handled with so much care. I really liked that there weren't unnecessary twists or drama just for the sake of it. The characters felt like real people trying to figure life out one step at a time. The ending left me with a feeling of peace more than sad

A beautiful conclusion to the trilogy. The story is emotional, thoughtful, and explores family in such a meaningful way.
