About this ebook

Julian LeFevre, Duke of Claridge, is a notorious and dissolute rake. His half-hearted attempt to reform his character has left him bored to death. To relieve the tedium, he wagers a friend that he can mold any pretty trollop from the London streets into a society lady.

But Hannah Gregory is no biddable lump of clay. She has a rebellious streak and is deaf from a long-ago accident. Although she conceals her past, she can't conceal her attraction to the scoundrel who offers her money she needs for a medical treatment. The charade might heal her, but it also might break her heart -- if she forgets that this dark and dangerous duke is well past the point of redemption.

Book 2 in the Love in Disguise series of Regency romances featuring daring masquerades, with love as the prize.

I loved the epilogue! There is so much emotion in this book from how Hannah aunt treated her to the bet and what Julian has planed. Then you have to wonder if Lady Huffington would get a clue, but she is not the only one. There were scenes where you could feel what Hannah was experiencing it is a very good well–written. I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Unusual perspective - Unusual storyline A creative narrative highlights the difficulty of being deaf, missing the tone and nuances of conversations. All is not what it seems for Julian either, some demons are within, surfacing only to destroy. A very entertaining rendition of Pygmalion - with a twist. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Julian and Hannah in their version of Pygmalion. I especially liked that although Hannah had a disability, she was a strong character. I also really appreciated the editing. I can't tell you how much I hate misspelled words and bad grammar. I truly am not the grammar police, but it's sooo annoying having to read through misspellings and missing words. Anyway, the story (and sub stories) kept me engaged and I'm looking forward to reading more of Ms. Putman's books. About the author

Eileen Putman is the author of a dozen British historical and Regency romances. Her love of England’s Regency period (1811-1820) has inspired her research trips to England, Ireland, Wales, France and other countries — there being no substitute for stepping on the soil that Beau Brummell and his champagne-polished Hessians once trod.
