Stone - A genre-crossing, sci-fi western, action-adventure, alien contact, survival story.
Orphaned at thirteen, Rhone lives a solitary life on the old homestead, doing what needs doing but not much more. But his life changes when he finds a pretty rock in the shallow river near his home and sticks it in his pocket. Then he starts hearing things. Stone, the stone-like crystalline entity, is eons old with tons of data stored in its crystalline matrix, but even with that knowledge it takes time to learn the difference between knowing by thinking, and knowing by doing. Two different things entirely.
When the local commissioner sends his men to find, buy, or steal what he considers is an artifact of power, Rhone, and his new friend Stone, head to the badlands, a place named for a very good reason. Then a chance encounter with The Commissioner's men ends up with Stone being taken, and Rhone left for dead. Surviving by a mere fluke of nature, Rhone heads out to rescue his friend. Luckily, the OPR is aware of the commissioner's heavy-handed ways and unknowingly helps Rhone to free Stone and find their way to freedom.
Stone, book one of,The Adventures of Rhone Stone. An unforgettable story of unique friends, trust, and learning, in an Old West setting.
