Of Blood and Mercy

For what, I don’t know. I have no one left in this world to fight for, thanks to the man responsible for imprisoning me.

King Ravok.

The one man in this forsaken world I want to murder with my bare hands.

He took everything from me, including my identity. Turns out, he thinks I’m royalty and not the palace maid I truly am. And now, he’s forcing me to marry his son to secure his hold on the throne.

But on the night of our vows, the castle walls shake, and a monster steps out of the shadows. His fangs drip with blood, yet when he reaches me, he doesn’t kill me.

He steals me.

Now, I’m on the run with a beast at my side. One with hauntingly familiar eyes. I should be terrified. Instead, I’m captivated by the devastating gentleness beneath his claws. I shouldn’t crave the touch of a monster. But I can’t ignore the feelings he stirs within me… like I know him.

For five years, my husband’s ghost kept me alive. But the monster who saved me is teaching me to fight back. Ravok thought he could use me as a pawn to keep his pilfered crown. Instead, he’s about to find out he unleashed his own executioner.
