Just like Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman, Absolute Superman is yet another great new interpretation of a classic character. This version of Superman comes from a Krypton that has a caste system of the science class and the labor class which has Superman sticking up for and protecting working class people put into highly dangerous situations. It is a very interesting take on Superman protecting the innocence and is very well done. I know many people do not like how DC removed the "Truth, Justice, and the American way" from the Superman mythos but we do live in a global society now and this first issue demonstrates quite well how Superman fights for justice all over the world. Just like the other two Absolute books this one also did not feel peachy, filled with politics, trying to be a movie or tv show version, or exist to promote something else. This comic feels like it was meant to tell a good Superman story first and foremost.
