About this ebook

In a quiet 1980s suburb, a teen's world is rocked by murder and family secrets.

When Mr. Marfeo is murdered, thirteen-year-old Zinnia Zompa is compelled to re-evaluate her understanding of her parents, their obsessions, and their constant battles. Set in the seemingly idyllic suburb of Maple Bay, Massachusetts, in 1985, Zinnia's coming-of-age is shadowed by the violence and deception she uncovers.

As Zinnia navigates the complexities of her family and community, she begins to see how the darkness within her own home reflects a larger pattern of domination in the world beyond. This coming-of-age mystery explores themes of memory, truth, and identity, challenging readers to question the cost of the American Dream. Will Zinnia escape the shadows, or will she become another casualty of Maple Bay's secrets? L'Air du Temps (1985) is perfect for readers who enjoy 1980s coming-of-age stories, suburban mysteries, and family dramas.
