About this ebook

The old model of leadership — command, control, and invulnerability — is failing. The Courage to Lead introduces the BRAVE Framework for a different kind of leadership built on boldness, responsibility, authenticity, vulnerability, and empathy. Drawing on his military background and subsequent leadership experience, Ashlee Sharpe argues that the strongest leaders are not those who project invincibility but those who create conditions where others feel safe enough to speak up, take risks, and bring their full selves to work. You will learn why vulnerability in leadership is not weakness but the foundation of trust, how to hold people accountable without destroying psychological safety, and why empathy is not a soft skill but a strategic advantage in building teams that perform at the highest level. This book is for anyone who leads people — whether a team of five or a company of thousands — and wants to do it in a way that brings out the best in everyone, including yourself.
