About this ebook

Dropping out of subspace into the wrong galactic sector, Sethran Kada wakes with a pounding headache and an extraordinary alien aboard his ship. She claims her people — a newly evolved species emerging from subspace — are being abducted by rebel factions and Commonwealth operatives alike.

When contact with her kind leaves pilots dead or mentally shattered, the Governors of their galactic empire fear an imminent invasion engineered by their enemies.

Pursued by the military, Seth heads deep into rebel-controlled territory to recover the stolen entities before their abilities can be weaponized. But the mission becomes dangerously personal when his mysterious passenger begins transforming his mind — and possibly his future.

More than just First Contact, what begins as a rescue mission quickly turns into a fight for survival for all of them.

"Completely and wickedly entertaining... I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!" (From over 2,700 Amazon reviews) “Chris Reher has created a vast, well-peopled universe with diverse and fascinating characters.”

An interesting premise and well written piece of scifi, fun and light. The idea of two minds inhabiting the same body is an often explored theme but Chris Reher does a very good job of it while keeping the writing very "hard" scifi rather than getting into fantasy and magic. His universe of the Union and Rebel factions is interesting and provides a good stage upon which to reveal his stories.

Quntum Tangle is my first Reher novel, and as a keen space opera enthusiast i am quite impressed. His writing style leaves the reader in suspense as he unravels a well thought out plot towards a satisfying conclusion. Indeed this novel was an exciting read that any sci fi fan would find quite indulging!

I loved it. You get a good visual of the characters & their current surroundings without being over elaborated on. Too much detail can ruin a good story. You get pulled into the story just like those written by Roger Zelazny, David Eddings or Douglas Adams. Though it feels a little rushed, this is a great read. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that I really wished that it was more like 400 -600 pages long. I love a thick novel that I can really sink my teeth into. I can't give my opinion on how the book had ended without spoiling it for others. We all have our preferences (mine would probably have ended the series right there) but it gives a good lead-in to the next book in the series, also another excellent read. There is nothing better than to come out of reading a good book, taking a deep breath and saying "Wow. What a ride!"

Living in Canada, it’s inevitable that those of us who lack enthusiasm for snow-related activities end up indoors for a good portion of the year. Thank goodness for computers. And sci-fi. And eBooks.

I've always loved writing about what might be possible—given a certain suspension of disbelief and a rude assault upon the laws of physics. Since there's far too much gravity on this planet, I tend to take my people to other worlds.

So grab a book and hop aboard!
