Isabell Ramos is a personal finance writer, digital nomad, and the founder of Nomad Ledger, a financial planning platform for location-independent professionals. She has lived and worked from twenty-seven countries across five continents since leaving her corporate finance role at Deloitte in 2019.
Her work focuses on the intersection of personal finance and geographic freedom — how to earn, save, invest, and pay taxes when you don't live in one place. She writes a weekly newsletter on nomadic finance that reaches 40,000 subscribers, and her writing has appeared in The Financial Diet, Nomad List, and Remote Work Magazine. She has been featured as a guest speaker at the Nomad Summit in Chiang Mai, the Remote Work Conference in Lisbon, and the World Digital Nomad Congress in Bali.
Isabell holds a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and is a CFA charterholder. She maintains professional certifications in cross-border tax planning through the American Institute of CPAs and serves on the advisory board of the Digital Nomad Visa Alliance, a nonprofit that advocates for clearer visa pathways for remote workers.
When she's not writing or building Nomad Ledger, she can be found hiking in the Colombian Andes, learning Portuguese in Lisbon, or testing internet speeds in coworking spaces across Southeast Asia — all in the name of research. She currently splits her time between Medellín, Chiang Mai, and wherever the Wi-Fi is strong enough to file her quarterly taxes on time.
You can find her at isabellramos.com, on Twitter at @isabellramos, or wherever good espresso and reliable fiber-optic internet coexist.
