I feel the frustration of the man in dealing with a person who at times seemed so selfish and purposely adverse to obeying authority even though she could absolutely see they were running to protect their life. The woman knows the situation they were in but she took delight in acting as if they were on vacation, going out enjoying herself in street parades and attracting more enemies, slugging the man for hurrying her to outrun their pursuers. She seemed basically unaware of the danger they were in. All that snark and bratty ways, one could wish the man should have left her behind.

Then, a little less than halfway through, it all went to sh*%. I adored the heroine, then she became the typical "new romance heroine". An overly emotional, wilfully difficult, petulant brat, lacking self-preservation. It isn't the frail, meek, swooning heroines of the past, but is this REALLY that much better? It is purely lazy writing. Typical is easy and requires little creativity. It's too bad. This could have been a great book.

I don't know what came first: Tom Cruise's Knight and Day or the Knight of Ambra, but they sure are two peas in a pod. Nevertheless, I loved the movie and I loved the book. Just enough drama, just enough kick ass, just enough love ... just enough of everything and well written. I'll recommend it to anyone - and am damn sure reading whatever else Lyn Brittan writes. You go girl!
