Juanita Martinez is a certified estate planning attorney and the founder of Martinez Estate Planning Group, a boutique law firm based in Austin, Texas, that has helped over two thousand families protect their assets and secure their legacies since its founding in 2009. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where she graduated with honors and served as an editor of the Texas Law Review, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University.
Martinez began her career as a tax associate at a large international law firm, where she developed deep expertise in estate and gift tax planning, charitable giving strategies, and business succession planning. In 2012, she earned the Accredited Estate Planner designation from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, and she has been recognized by Texas Monthly as a Rising Star in estate planning for six consecutive years. She is a frequent speaker at legal education conferences and has contributed chapters to two textbooks on trust administration and elder law.
Beyond her law practice, Martinez serves on the board of directors for the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and volunteers with the Austin Legal Aid Society, where she provides pro bono estate planning services to low-income families and veterans. She is the author of numerous articles on estate planning topics for publications including the Journal of Retirement Planning and the Texas Bar Journal, and she hosts a monthly podcast, *The Legacy Planner*, that breaks down complex estate planning concepts for a general audience.
Martinez lives in Austin with her husband and two children. She believes that estate planning is fundamentally an act of love and that every family, regardless of income or asset level, deserves access to the peace of mind that a well-designed estate plan provides. *Your Estate Planning Roadmap* is her first book.
