About this ebook

Whether you're newly separated, long divorced, or supporting someone you love, dealing with the emotional turmoil can be overwhelming. Barnabas Piper offers not platitudes, but real hope, rooted in the comfort and presence of Jesus. This topical resource that reads like a devotional is a guide to grace, forgiveness, and restoring trust.

Are you searching for light in the darkness of divorce? Life After Divorce offers a compassionate companion for those walking through one of life's most painful journeys. Written by Barnabas Piper from his own experience, this book breaks through the noise of theological debates and well-meaning advice to offer what so many need most: honest, biblical comfort for the here and now. What Piper has written is the kind of book he needed when he was walking through divorce and figuring out life after.

Unlike other books that analyze divorce from the outside, Barnabas has written a collection of short, authentic reflections—each one crafted to meet you in your specific moment of pain, confusion, or sorrow. Inside, you'll find three thoughtfully organized sections:

  • Moments: Navigate the unexpected triggers and reminders—holidays, familiar places, or questions from your children—that blindside you after divorce.
  • Feelings and Temptations: Address the powerful waves of anger, sorrow, loneliness, or temptation that threaten to overwhelm you.
  • Re-Learning: Find guidance for the blank spaces and uncertainties of your new life, as you carry your story into an unknown future.

Every reflection includes key Scripture passages, a thoughtful meditation, and a heartfelt prayer. Though not a devotional in the proper sense, Barnabas's writing is full of encouragement and inspiration that will open your heart to worship even on the most difficult days. Ultimately, this book was designed for you to turn to the section you need most, like a trusted reference in a moment of crisis or quiet reflection.
