I was really looking forward to reading about Dr Oliver Sacks, hoping it would be as enjoyable as listening to his numerous contributions to Radiolab. However, despite reinforcing what an undoubtedly amazing life this wonderful man has led, this book failed to deliver the same excitement. While struggling through this book, I found the individual anecdotes to be more like a good synopsis than a must finish story, leaving me desperate for more (which was unfortunately never satisfied).

Have only just finished the sample, and couldn't put it down from the first page to the very last...Will post a better review after I read the entire book...A must read so far tho!

About the author
OLIVER SACKS was the author of twelve previous books, including The Mind’s Eye, Musicophilia, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, and Awakenings (which inspired both the Oscar-nominated film and a play by Harold Pinter). The New York Times referred to Dr. Sacks as “the poet laureate of medicine,” and he was a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books. He lived in New York City, where he was a professor of neurology at the NYU School of Medicine. He died in 2015.
