No time to rest. The world is a mess …

He’d barely made it home from helping Griffin only to find himself called to rescue a doctor on a cruise ship overtaken by pirates in their search for Abigail Dalton. The pirates had no trouble killing passengers until they found the right woman. With one man at his side, Jax sneaks onto the ship to rescue her.

When she heard the gunfire, Abby hid in the venting on the ship. When a man susses out her hiding place, she’s sure her world is about to end. Only Jax is on her side; yet he came with just one man to help. Stunned, she stays close as Jax frees the ship and keeps her safe—until they find out the real reason for this nightmare, when she’s forced to England to face the two-legged monster of her nightmares ...

This is book 3 in The Mavericks series and it features Jax and Abby. She’s supposed to be on vacation but someone unwelcome from her past has other plans for her. Jax is sent to rescue a famous doctor on a cruise ship because she’s been targeted for abduction. He finds the doctor and she is beautiful! Abby is a no-nonsense, down to earth woman, who in the middle of all the chaos, finds Jax VERY sexy. The flirtation and banter are super cute. I love how they didn’t jump into bed right away but let it build. This story has tons of action with amazing characters. I love how the epilogue sets you up for the next book.

I loved how stubborn Abby is and passionate about her work so she makes the perfect match for Jax. A wicked web of deceit, lies and surprises is crafted as Jax tries to work out who is really behind the attack on the boat and on Abby, while she uses her skills to help save someone. I love how the stories flow through to the next so you get to see whats happening to the other couples and get a taste of whats to come! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you'll want to cuddle close. She's long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her - and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that's okay too. There is one guarantee with each book - it will be a great read - each and every time.
