The Noble Guardian by Michelle Griep is Christian Historical Fiction. It is always a pleasure to read a book full of Christian truths, principles and historical facts. Adventure, action, clean romance, and the historical details of Bow Street Runners, Medical care, arduous travel are all included in this exciting book. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about travel and law enforcement in that time period. It is always refreshing to read how the characters Christian Faith affected their lives. I have enjoyed each book in this series and hope to read more by Michelle Griep. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I appreciate the opportunity and thank the author and publisher for allowing me to read, enjoy and review this book.

I just re-read this story...I think I love it more. It is definitely one of my top favorites of this year. My original review: Captain Samuel Thatcher is the best!!! I truly fell in love with the people in this story. They do not feel fictional, though I know they are. This book is more than a 5 star read! My heart hurt for Abigail. Unloved by her father and mistreated by her step-mother, she still has hope. Hope for a better life with her betrothed Sir Jonathan. She only met him once but he asked for her hand and her father gladly gave it. She has an inner strength I'm not sure she was aware of, and she is very persistent. Captain Thatcher is longing to retire from Bow Street, buy some property and live a simpler life. He only needs a bit more money. My goodness, the man is the most swoon-worthy hero. Strong, rugged, handsome (despite his scars), loyal, caring, gentle, and always does the right thing. I love the way he says "thunder and turf" when he is upset. He is after one of the worst men around, Shankhart Robbins, an evil demon. Shankhart is after Thatcher too, for reasons I can't say without spoilers. When Captain Thatcher meets Miss Gilbert, well let me just say he's met his match. She is stubborn about doing things her way and she convinces him to help her. The adventure begins! The journey is fraught with danger and a few unexpected moments of light-heartedness. But it is a journey well worth taking. I highly recommend this book! I am so glad Michelle Griep wrote Thatcher's story.

Be prepared to be pulled into this amazing story on the first page and not let go until the end! Michelle Griep has created a brilliant journey with the handsome, brooding, Bow Street Runner, Samuel Thatcher. But make not mistake, he is a little broken on the inside by all that he has endured and witnessed with humanity and needs to retire to a place of his own. He was "Tired from a sleepless night. Tired from humanity. Tired of Life." Plus he is desperately trying to find the highwayman who has been leaving victims in his wake! Abigail Gilbert felt she was finally going to marry and hopefully have happiness in her life, which had been sadly lacking. An arranged marriage with a Baron far away from her terrible family, set her on a journey to his home. But fate was about to have these two wounded souls collide as Samuel rescues Abby from an attack by some of the gang he was trying to catch! Desperate, she convinces him to escort her to the destination of her bethrothed. Thus the adventure begins! The author's rich prose and descriptions made me feel I was there with these wonderful characters! Suspense, intrigue, humor, faith and love, all wrapped up together and much more, that make this a story that warmed my heart and I could only smile at the end... I highly recommend and cannot wait to read more by this author who is now on my must read shelf! I read this book through NetGallery.
