The daughter of King Saul, Michal lives a life of privilege--but one that is haunted by her father's unpredictable moods and competition from her beautiful older sister. As a girl, Michal quickly falls for the handsome young harpist David. But soon after their romance begins, David must flee for his life, leaving Michal at her father's mercy in the prison that is King Saul's palace.

I like that it follows scripture. Sometimes when I read the Bible, I question, "Why did he do that?" or, "Why would she act that way?" Its interesting to think about what 'might' have happened in between the scriptures we read. I had to keep reminding myself that this is not entirely factual.

I learned so much about the history of David's life from this book and the story is fantastic! Michal's story was so tragic, but beautiful and while three ending is how the author imagined it, I like how she wrote that Michal's life ended in grace, forgiveness and peace. I didn't think I would enjoy this book, because I've always viewed her as the antagonist of the story, but this book put into perspective her feelings, experiences and why she behaved the way she did. Five stars!

I enjoyed reading this book, it was slow at first but then It was hard to stop reading. I am going to read Samuel's book in the Bible, as well, I am looking forward to the next.
