Another great story. I really enjoy learning all of these new things about our history. I recommend the stories by Mr. Dempsey, if you enjoy reading about historical events as I do. I’ve received a complimentary ARC copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

A Family Affair. The Viking world of plunder and intrigue is not for the faint hearted. I really liked how the story revolves around Finn and his family. Watching different factions invade the land or try to maneuver for greater political gain insured the story never had a dull moment. Hearing parts of the story from various points of view allowed greater insight to motivation and potential treachery on the horizon. With some initial hurdles overcome, Finn and his family have more in store!

I really enjoyed this book. It is somewhat similar to the first series i read by Dempsey, in that it's an epic coming-of-age quest in a long-ago time. It's well-written, well researched, and the world building makes it feel like it's happening today. I can't wait to read the next books that will come out of this series. It's gonna be great!

About the author

C R Dempsey is the author of the Exiles book series, set in Elizabethan Ireland and Viking Dawn set in the Viking age. He has plans for many more, and he needs to find the time to write them. C R spends lots of time working on his books, mainly in the twilight hours of the morning. C R wishes he spent more time writing and less time jumping down the rabbit hole of excessive research.

C R Dempsey lives in London with his wife and cat. He was born in Dublin but has lived most of his adult life in London.
