This plot, these characters had so much potential but in the end, it was just trope piled on trope, the declaration page was too abrupt and wooden, the police procedural inconsistencies were ridiculous (a safe house is never going to be a private love nest you can waltz out of anytime you feel like it and order food to be delivered to, etc, a K9 unit is a support unit, etc ...🙄)

Romantic suspense with a sprinkle of cozy mystery thrown in Farrah, a K-9 trainer, is unsure whether Kurt, a new transfer to the K-9 unit, is the right officer for the newest K-9 for the city of Portland. As the story progresses a difference of opinions drives them crazy, a new case dives them together, and the sparks that fly from the clash of their personalities is not the hottest fire they may end up dealing with. Lexy Parker springs into action from the first page. This author has combined romantic suspense with a sprinkle of cozy mystery thrown in. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This is the first book in the K-9 Protection Romance series, a new series written by Lexy Parker. Lieutenant Farrah Moss is a police officer, who trains dogs for the K-9 Unit. She is beautiful, strong, and smart. Lieutenant Kurt Willis is a police officer who's paired with Sergeant Barker, one of the dogs trained by Farrah. Kurt is handsome, charming, easy going, and determined. Their story is entertaining, and sexy, filled with action, and twists and turns. The story is well written and captivating. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
