Well-written and absorbing biography of Hitler's early life and rise to power. Kudos to the editor(s) as well as the author for the top notch presentation. Kudos to Google for making this book available on Google Play Books - except for one thing: My Google Play Books copy of this book does not include an Index. I note the print copy of this book includes an Index. Why does not my Google Play Books copy include an Index? I would like an Index included with my copy, please, Google Play Books.

VOLKER ULLRICH is a historian and journalist whose previous books in German include biographies of Bismarck and Napoleon, as well as a major study of Imperial Germany, Die nervöse Grossmacht 1871–1918 (The Nervous Superpower). From 1990 to 2009, Ullrich was the editor of the political book review section of the influential weekly newspaper Die Zeit.
