About this ebook

The instant national bestseller about a London rocker is faced with a life-or-death choice when he realizes that a league of necromancers are the only ones keeping London safe in this music-infused fantasy cowritten by #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson along with author-musician Peter Orullian.

Jack Solomon is walking home with his mentor Henry, owner of the iconic London rock club The Iron Horse, after another night when they are both shot dead by an assassin painted in corpse makeup. When Jack wakes up on the street, somehow alive, yet without Henry, he has found himself in a London where an ancient league of necromancers known as thanatists are entering a civil war, and he’s now at the center of it.

Gathering his friends at the Iron Horse, Jack is on a crash course to learn how to be a thanatist and navigate the Strata—living eras of the past sprawling beneath today's London—in order to win this fight. What is revealed is that a slow revolution to rewrite history to favor the near-forgotten dead, through music, is coming to a boil, and the Iron Horse is essential to keep

London safe.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson has partnered with heavy metal musician and fellow fantasy author Peter Orullian to create a unique contemporary fantasy series, The Strata Wars, lifting the veil to a hidden magical world where musical history and necromantic magic is intertwined, and has been for centuries.

I asked for His forgiveness, for constant doubt. For those awful thoughts that I just wanted out. For blaming it on genes. He said "By no means." For hating my neighbour, by a gossiping toungue. For all the corrupt words that I'd sung. For looking at those scenes. He said By no means." By no means. By no means. Where is my hope then? When times are tough, as they often are. And we look back on wounds and scars. Do we not find sometimes we say. "Wherein have you loved us Lord?" "I wish to see my faith restored." We focus on the here and now. When before our maker we should bow. And acknowledge what it is he's done. In sending us his only son. The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he said, “This is my body which is for you. This in my Rememberancece do. Is it now becoming clear? Is there more you need to hear? "Wherein? He asks. "Can you not see?" "What was done for you on Calvary? All that was evil, poured on Him. He took away your every sin. Should you not ask "how can it be?" "That he would do this thing for me?" Not "wherein has love been shown?" I could have left you all alone. Rather, I gave life that you might live. How much more was there, I could give? Did we hear it? On that very night. On that very night. That's right. In the same way also he took the cup. The new covenant in His blood, for those corrupt. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Don't you see? Look to ,your future, and on ,my past. Where I conquered sin, at last. Life on earth is like a breath blown out. Wait for trumpet call, and mighty shout. Where you'll ask "wherein?" no more. Your savior you will perfectly adore. Never there, have doubts or fears. Never there shed any tears. I cannot now contain my shame. I committed sin. You took the blame. He said "Also throw your shame on me." "I took it all on calvary." I will not give up. I'll ask Him again. Forgive me for being quiet, when I should have spoken out. For not explaining to my brother what forgiveness was all about. For keeping company with fiends. He said " By no means" By no means. By no means. Where is my hope then?. I'll ask Him again. For not guarding my temper or helping those in need. For when I had the means, and didn't the hungry feed. For not being the father I should have been. He said "By no means." By no means. By no means. What hope is there then? Can I not be forgiven, when I have made ammends? He said " You need not have any doubt." "All those who come to me, l will by no means cast out."

As someone who has dealt with their own trauma through music, this hit hard. Thank you for writing it.
