About this ebook

Complete and unabridged, with 14 full-page plates by William Spreat, William Davis and Walter Greaves. Twelve cases, from the king of Bohemia's indiscreet photograph to the speckled band coming down the bell-rope, collected from the magazine that made Holmes a household name. The Strand's circulation jumped by tens of thousands on the months a story appeared, and queues formed at the newsagent. Doyle was already tired of him and being paid too well to stop. Its 53 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
