About this ebook

Mysterious and larger than life, this baron might not have been the best choice for elopement…

Lady Elizabeth Stanton needed to wed quickly in order to save her brother but running away with a rakehell of a baron…. Cryptically quiet, the Baron of Clubs is the definition of the strong and silent sort of fellow. As frightening as he is handsome, he steals her breath with every penetrating glance from his hazel gaze.

There’s no turning back, however, once she leaves London with her new fiancé. Besides, he’s already protected her once, even she can attest to that. But as she leaves the security of her family and heads off on a larger-than-life adventure with a complete stranger, she has to wonder if this mad journey to Scotland was the largest mistake of her life or her first step toward becoming a woman all her own.

And as her fear heats into passion, she must also wonder about the man who’s swept into her life, carried her off from her home, and rewritten her entire world. Because, if she’s not careful, he might just steal her heart too.

"Lizzie.... If you ever need anything. If anyone attacks you again...I'll help you... anything." Fortuitous words from Baron Colton Purewater, known as Clubs. Ok stop right there. Yes, tell him yes! Lizzie's brother, Reginald, aka Edge is in love with a girl that she knows he will not marry because of her. He feels he needs someone with money so that he can have a dowry for her. But she decides she will take care of that by asking Colton to marry her. He did say Anything, right? A marvelous adventure begins as these two take off for Gretna Green to marry. Colton with his quiet manner and Lizzie with her youthfulness. Another wonderful addition to this series and as always, Tammy pulls us in from the beginning!

Colton Grey, Baron Purewater, in the hunt for the thief stealing from the Den of Sins club thwarts an attack on Lady Elizabeth Stanton, the sister of another partner in the club. Colton tells Lizzie that if she needs anything he will come to her aid. Lizzie, hoping to find a way to allow her brother, Edge, to marry for love, not money, asks Colton to marry her. He has no problem with this request. Off they go to Gretna Green. It’s a long trip, so they will have lots of time to get to know each other. Sounds easy? Nope. There are a few things you don’t want to happen while you are running away to get married: carriage stuck in the mud, highwaymen, the lady’s brother to catch up with you. Will they make it Gretna Green, or will they go back to London? All of this makes an exciting trip and a fast-paced engaging story. The strong characters are familiar and likeable. The end of the story is great, a couple of HEA’s and a surprise. A grand romantic adventure. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Protected by her brother since the death of her parents, Lady Elizabeth Stanton had to grow up very quickly on the night that there was an attack on the house she and her brother took refuge in. Deciding that if her brother is to have the woman he loves, her only option is to determine her own future, which finds her on the doorstep of Colton, the Baron of Purewater, in the middle of the night. Colton or Clubs as he is known to his associates, immediately sees the opportunities presented in the situation, and the two of them hie off to Gretna Green. The journey is not without incident, but Colton is an honorable man and there is no way that he will take advantage of the innocent young woman. However, as they face danger together, Colton sees Elizabeth transforming before his eyes, and before long she yearns for the tender love that only Colton can give her. As can be expected, Colton is challenged by Elizabeth's brother, but fortunately, they have the Queen of Hearts on their side. The novel comes to a sweet and happy conclusion for all the parties, but apparently, a new problem is about to descend upon them. I received a copy of this well-written and charming romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
