When you think of great suspense in his author comes out on top every time. Whether she’s writing one of her long time series or a stand alone it’s gonna be a winner. This farming community has been plagued with accidents and incessant problems. Ellen is just trying to keep her family and farm together. Pressure draws danger from all around them. Grab this one and kick back and enjoy.

This is a fabulous novel-crime thriller combined with family drama and a horrendous rain storm. The big baddie in town is ruthlessly dead set on buying up land for a lucrative government pipeline project. A hired thug along with his wife and brother in law are way over their heads. A struggling farm is caught in the middle with family members caught in the thugs' grips. Thrilling and chilling. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Not her best but not horrible. The ending was rather dull and not suspensful.
