Technical analysis is the study of price and volume data to forecast future price movements and identify high-probability entry and exit points. It is one of the most debated areas in investing — dismissed by some academics as pattern-matching on noise, embraced by professional traders as an indispensable framework for navigating markets.
The honest position is somewhere in the middle. Technical analysis does not predict the future with certainty — nothing does. But it provides a structured language for reading market behaviour, managing risk around entry and exit decisions, and understanding the psychology of supply and demand as it plays out in price charts in real time.
This book covers technical analysis from first principles through practical application — charts, candlesticks, trend analysis, support and resistance, the major indicators, and how to build a coherent approach that works alongside the fundamental and strategic frameworks from earlier books in the series.
I grew up near London, England before moving to Canada when I was 13, though I had a modest upbringing I was surrounded by some of the wealthiest members of society from an early age. That environment gave me an education that no classroom could fully replicate.
While I was earning my degree in Economics I began trading stocks and options learning the basics of trading. After earning over 700% on a few call options I was hooked on learning more, expanding my knowledge on many different strategies and investment vehicles over the years.
By my mid-twenties I was working with directors and C-suite executives as a trusted analyst at multinational corporations, companies operating in the billions. This gave me a front-row seat to how major businesses are managed and how money moves at the highest levels.
The Market Mentor Series is my way of passing on some of the knowledge I’ve gained while being written for everyone, and backed by a lifetime of having real money on the line.
