About this ebook
[Talented and Empowered. Volunteer Congregations with Professional Assistance]
The Churches in Germany are undergoing a long-term, accelerating process of restructuring. This is partly due to a lack of young pastoral workers and insufficient funds to fill parish positions in the long term. The authors see this crisis as an opportunity to reflect and reformulate their ›idea‹ of the church: as an autonomous church of volunteers, supported by the gifts of the baptised and guests – and not as a parish under pastoral care. The opportunities and limitations of this idea are discussed in this volume, which also provides practical suggestions.
