Coraline feels like a story that was discovered and written rather than a story that was composed and written, in the best way possible. Coraline has such an impeccable timeless feel to it that I'm honestly surprised no one told this story until 2002. It feels like the phrase "careful what you wish for" was made because of this story, rather than existing way before it came out. And it's only 200 pages, so succinct I love it.

Coraline is a really cool and spooky book! It's about a girl who finds a secret door to another world that's not quite right. The story is creepy and suspenseful, but also really imaginative and fun. I love the way Neil Gaiman creates this weird and wonderful world. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good scare.

I love how everyone who meets Coraline gets her name wrong. . .then the strange door and the other world that she visits. She seems to like it there until it's not. Worth a read.
