Desert Run

A Modern Western Noir Thriller of Corruption, Manhunts, and Survival in the New Mexico Badlands

The desert doesn’t care who you are.

It only cares whether you live long enough to cross it.

Jack Carter used to wear a badge.

A former U.S. Marshal with a reputation for getting the job done, Carter now makes a rough living chasing skips, bail jumpers, and men foolish enough to run. Broke, bruised, and one bad month from disaster, he follows a small-time fugitive into the scorched emptiness of southern New Mexico.

Then everything changes.

A powerful federal judge is assassinated. Within minutes, Carter’s face is blasted across encrypted networks and bounty boards across the Southwest.

WANTED: JACK CARTER

$800,000 DEAD

$200,000 ALIVE

Now every bounty hunter, cartel gunman, mercenary crew, and crooked cop in the region is hunting him.

But Carter knows one thing.

Men with that kind of money don’t want justice.

They want silence.

Framed for murder and marked for execution, Carter is forced into a brutal run across the badlands—through dying towns, abandoned mining corridors, cartel backroads, and blood-soaked desert highways. Alongside Sarah Hayes, a hard-edged landowner with her own score to settle, Carter uncovers a conspiracy involving stolen water rights, lithium fortunes, judicial corruption, and killers paid to erase anyone in the way.

Outnumbered and cut off, Carter will have to use every trick he learned wearing the badge… and every dirty lesson he learned after losing it.

Because in the desert, there are only two kinds of people.

The hunted.

And the dead.
