About this ebook

"Can I interest you in saving America?"
That's the text message Peter Fallon receives from a Wall Street bigwig. It's not a challenge he can turn down, especially since the country is in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
Hidden somewhere in New York City is a box of 1780 bonds with a face value of ten thousand dollars. The Supreme Court is about to decide if these bonds still have value. If the decision is yes, those ten thousand dollars, at five percent interest, will be worth a very pretty penny...
Peter Fallon and his girlfriend, Evangeline Carrington, must find the box—and fast. Suddenly, their race against time becomes a race through time as Peter and Evangeline track the stories of New Yorkers whose lives have been changed by the bonds... and all the while they'll unravel the thrilling and inspiring origins of the City of Dreams.

Martin has again interwoven historical & current fiction into a fascinating tale situated in NY city. His juxtapositioning of each chapter draws the reader nicely through to the conclusion. Those familiar with the Big Apple and its history may especially appreciate the work. J.P. Miller, Cambridge, MA

William Martin does it again with this gripping, edge of your seat thriller! I bought this book and devoured it in just two days. If I could have, I would have finished it in one night. It took me two, and I'm not a serious reader. This book has it all. I've read most of his works, and while I won't spoil the ending, trust me when I say that its the best ending yet! Give this book a shot and you will want to pick up all of Martin's Peter and Evangeline series' after you are done.

William Martin is a master story teller who brings history alive with characters who fascinate and enthrall and then matches their exploits to a modern setting where we see not much has changed since Boss Tweed, except for two exceptional characters who demonstrate what integrity and patriotism should stand for. City of Dreams is an another masterful Peter Fallon mystery that will not disappoint.
