About this ebook

She’s all warmth and tinsel. He’s spent years surviving in sand and silence. This Christmas, something small and bright might just change everything.

Hannah Wheeler moved to Wishful to start over—closer to her sister, with quieter dreams and a slower pace. While waiting tables to get by, she’s quietly taking on holiday decorating jobs around town. It’s her way of bringing a little cheer—and reminding people, including herself, that she’s more than just what they see on the surface.

Ryan Malone didn’t plan to spend the holidays in a small Southern town. But when his mom worries that his Uncle Percy isn’t taking proper care of himself, Ryan is sent to check in. As an Army medic on emergency leave, he knows how to assess a situation. What he didn’t expect was Hannah.

She’s light where he’s all shadows. Soft where he’s all edges. And even though he came to Wishful to keep his distance, he finds himself drawn to her—again and again.

Heartfelt, hopeful, and full of quiet magic, A Lot Like Christmas is a grumpy-meets-sunshine holiday romance about small kindnesses, unexpected joy, and finding love where you never thought to look.

Nolan brings readers back to Wishful, Mississippi for the holidays in this short Christmas romance. Hannah Wheeler is recovered, mostly, from her terrible car accident over a year ago. She should get on with her "real" life, but she likes it in Wishful and is looking for a way to merge the old life with the new life. Ryan Malone is taking leave from his military career to make sure his uncle is well enough to continue living alone. Christmas brings people together. Hannah and Ryan are drawn to each other from the beginning. Even when Hannah believes he is homeless and offers him coffee and kindness. This is a sweet romance with a head of steam. Can these two build a new relationship long distance? There is always hope in Wishful. I highly recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romance genre. ARC for honest review with no compensation received from BookSprout Ryan a Delta Force medic on leave for Christmas, comes to Wishful after a call from his mother to check on his stubborn Uncle Percy who has become a homebody after the death of his wife a few years prior. Fresh off the plane he borrows his buddy’s truck to head to Wishful and breaks down outside of town, walks to town and goes to the diner and meets Hannah a waitress who thinks he is a homeless person. She waits on him and tries to spread holiday cheer but he doesn’t really respond... Hannah a big city interior designer, now a waitress in Wishful recovering from a horrible accident and with her never ending optimism for spreading holiday cheer and the hopes of starting her own interior design business. With the help of a Secret Santa she ends up at Uncle Percy’s to use her skills to decorate his house and who answers the door but Ryan! The magic of Wishful brings these two together in an unusual way and maybe they can help each other to overcome the fears they both are hiding deep inside.

Enjoyed the book, nice to see the casserole patrol still up to their old tricks. Thanksgiving been a great celebration. And also slipped in a health scare for good measure to keep people on their toes. So look forward to the next adventure. Would have liked a bit more information on past characters.
