The Sapphire Altar

Can you hold on to your humanity, when your foe is anything but human? Can you hold on to the ideals of beauty, compassion, and love when your people are being slaughtered and their desperation calls for blood? Can you put your faith in one who has fallen twice before your own eyes? The Sapphire Altar ruined me. It rent me asunder and burned me to ash, while simultaneously raising me from the depths. The world David introduced us to in The Bladed Faith has become deeper, with more mysteries uncovered and secrets brought to light. There is beauty and horror, doubt and hope. There is forgiveness and there is vengeance. I loved every second, even when I cried. I once tweeted at David that reading his books brought back the joy of reading for me, and his words continue to be a delight. also I swore I posted this forever ago but apparently not. oops.

Much better than the first book, I had a much better time reading this one. here's hoping the next is even better!!!
