Taken by the Tanker: A Dark and Steamy Dystopian Romance

Very fast paced, like the blurb. We go very quickly into a taken and claimed situation here. Believe this happens over a matter of two to three days. Hoss and Char get into it and understanding the situation fairly quickly, her more than him as he's the Alpha who was taking what he wanted. This was my first experience with these tropes. It was very spice-heavy with a darker dystopian setting. The dystopian elements felt a little forced at times, so that part didn’t fully work for me. What I did enjoy was the dynamic between the characters. I loved that this big, intimidating alpha-type character was firm but still kind and caring toward her. That balance made their relationship more enjoyable, especially given the darker themes of the story. Overall, I would be interested in reading another book from this author and exploring more of their work. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

4.5 stars Dark omegaverse novella set in a dystopian world. Char is an Omega for sale, she has no way to escape her future. Hoss/Tanker is known to be a strong vicious Alpha and has chosen her. He knows her first heat is close. I liked the story. Tanker seems to have two sides to him - the public strong Alpha one to maintain his power and the private caring one for Char The HEA is so sweet - he makes her dream come true ❤️.
