A desperate witch.

A deadly bargain.

A hunter who never loses his prey.

When Lilea steals a ruby ring to save her dying sister, she crosses paths with Opalin, a mysterious Invisible and one of the ancient lords of Navriia. To rescue the girl from a cruel nobleman and a secret cult, Lilea agrees to a dangerous pact: three riddles, three chances… and if she fails, her soul will belong to him forever.

But as they step into a world of dark magic, hidden courts, and blood rituals, Lilea discovers that the greatest danger is not the monsters in the shadows. It is the powerful, unpredictable being who now holds her fate in his hands.

This book defies all my preconceptions of short stories. I've long had a rule not to download any offering shorter than 100 pages simply because all shorts I've tried simply do not have enough character or plot development to sustain my interest. I find myself reading about cardboard principals, stereotypical puppets. But this blew my preconceptions up. Fully realized actors, fully fleshed emotions, a devious plot, and a dream resolution for any romantic. Incredible storyteller; mind blowing tale!
