It was a shoddily constructed story, though the message of gender based violence was highlighted as the central topic here brought to the fore, that was the positive take here. The romance aspect was delivered in a "too quick" non descriptive manner... at least it wasn't pricey for such a short story. No I didn't enjoy this...

OMG❣️💥 Just when I thought Elizabeth Lennox books couldn't get any better 💥🌟... BAM Enter,Jolene aka (Carrie)to turn BIG,hunky, handsome, and sweet and kind Derek's ordinary and quiet life.into anything but Ordinary. As he finds out when he spots her repair the rotted boards on the front porch of the house nextdoor one Saturday morning. He offers to help and,she helps him with his garden, and from then on they become friendly helpful neighbors and attraction grows between them... however Jolene is nervous and reserved and skittish almost fearful and this makes Derek wonder if she's a victim of domestic violence or definitely some form of violence.Hes calming and gentle and patient and quiet with her and doesn't push for answers . Carrie/Jolene is falling for the gentle Derek but is afraid to stay TOO long bc she doesn't want him or his friends hurt She's terrified of John and has to leave before he does..
