About this ebook

An unforgettable bestselling memoir of resilience, identity, and hope, this is the true story of one girl's determination to rise above rejection in 1940s China and find her own voice.

From the bestselling author of Falling Leaves comes the powerful true story that has inspired generations of readers.

Growing up in an affluent family in 1940s China, Adeline is treated as an outsider from the moment she is born. Blamed for her mother's death in childbirth and neglected by her father, Adeline longs for the love and acceptance that never seem to come. While her stepmother lavishes affection on her younger siblings, Adeline finds comfort in books, excels in school, and quietly dreams of a different future.

Adeline recounts her journey from loneliness and heartbreak to resilience and self-discovery. Like the classic fairy tale that inspired its title, Chinese Cinderella is a deeply moving memoir about overcoming adversity and believing in your own worth.

Perfect for readers who love inspiring true stories, the bookincludes an author's note, a historical note, a photo insert, and the original Chinese text of Chinese Cinderella.

Chinese Cinderella is a touching and eye-opening memoir about an unwanted daughter. It is true story of an unwanted daughter blamed for her mother's death and Adeline is a determined and strong-willed young girl who lacks love and affection in her childhood. I enjoyed this book because it made me think about how badly some children can be treated. Her devastating story inspires readers to persevere and never give up.

The description is really good and it's really touching. But I prefer adventure and mystic books or school stories. In fact, most of the time I just read fiction. It doesn't really matter coz i read to write better not to learn( at least not main point )

This is a great book for Jr. High students. We had some great discussions on how to treat others, and how to persevere when trials and hards things come our way.
