About this ebook

On Liberty by John Stuart Mill is a landmark philosophical work that explores the principles of individual freedom, personal autonomy, and the relationship between the individual and society. First published in 1859, the book presents Mill’s influential argument that individuals should be free to think, express opinions, and pursue their own way of life, as long as they do not harm others.

Through thoughtful analysis of freedom of speech, individuality, social pressure, and the limits of government authority, Mill examines the importance of protecting personal liberty in a democratic society. On Liberty remains one of the most significant works in political philosophy and continues to influence discussions on human rights, free expression, and the balance between individual choice and social responsibility.
